Now is the time to add the
Flight Encampment 2012 to your summer calendar. The encampment will be held at the Camp Boucher CAP facility
at Ephrata, Washington from 24 July through 5 August 2012. All of the necessary instructions, forms and documents are available below. The Encampment fees are: Basic
Glider Students $565.00 Advanced Glider Students $880.00 Powered Students $1,235.00 Cadet and Senior Staff $135.00 The fees will cover all expenses including flight and ground training, pilot logbook if required, wings, food and lodging. A $200 refundable deposit will be required from students. If more students apply that we can handle a waiting list will be established. To be on the waiting list the student must register and submit the $200 deposit. The staff fee can be prorated for those not able to support all dates. Cadets must have their parent or guardian’s and Squadron Commander’s signature on the WA Form 23. CAP members from other Wings (states) must submit a letter with their Wing Commander’s signature giving permission to attend the Encampment. Airplane students will receive approximately 9 hours of flight training and may be charged for any extra flight time. Basic Glider students will receive approximately 25 ground tow and 5 aero tow flights. Advanced Glider Students will receive approximately 15 aero tow flights. Application Requirements Application Requirements: Basic Glider Student 14 years old Completed the second achievement of the Cadet Program Completed a Class A Encampment Weight between 100 and 180 pounds Have a FAA Student Pilot’s Certificate (FAA medical is NOT required) Submit WA Wing forms 23 and 24 filled in completely including all entries on the medical form WWF24 Submit an essay describing why you want to attend the Flight Encampment and outlining your goals in aviation. Application Requirements: Advanced Glider Students 14 years old by 25 July 2011 Completed the second achievement of the Cadet Program Must have completed a CAP Basic Glider course or have completed training through solo with an approved gliding club or school. Completed a Class A Encampment Weight between 100 and 180 pounds This course will concentrate on studies in preparation for the FAA written test. This course is more advanced that the Basic course and
will include instruction in thermalling, cross-country techniques and all required maneuvers contained in the FAA Practical Test Standards for a glider private pilot license Have
a FAA Student Pilot’s Certificate (FAA medical is NOT required) Submit
WA Wing forms 23 and 24 filled in completely
including all entries on the medical form WWF24 Submit

Application Requirements: Power Students 16 years old by 25 July 2011 Completed the fourth achievement of the Cadet Program Completed a Class A Encampment Not taking medication and have a FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate and Student Pilot’s Certificate Proof of US citizenship. For non citizens, have papers showing you are registered with the TSA to allow flight training. A copy of proof of U S citizenship or TSA approval must be included in the package mailed to the address in the Flight Encampment Instructions document. The original of this document must brought to the Encampment. It will be returned after review by the flight instructor Submit WA Wing forms 23 and 24 filled in completely including all entries on the medical form WWF 24 Submit an essay describing why you want to attend the Flight Encampment and outlining your goals in aviation. Application Requirements: Cadet Staff Completed a Class A Encampment Submit a resume See the Flight Encampment Instructions below for the complete registration requirements. For All Applicants: You will receive an email to inform you whether or not you have been selected to attend the Flight Encampment. If we have more applicants that we can accept a waiting list will be established. If you are placed on the waiting list you will be notified. Do not go to Camp Boucher unless you receive a notification that you have been accepted. Partial scholarships may be available. The scholarship amount would depend on need and the number of scholarship applications. Primary criteria for a scholarship are based on financial need, satisfactory progress in the Cadet Program and desire for learning to fly. Applications are submitted on a CAPF 95 form and attach a letter describing your career goals and desire to learn to fly. It is not required to attach a photograph to the CAPF 95. The Unit Commander must verify financial need by endorsing the applicant’s letter, the CAPF95, or by letter.
